3 Step Digital Learning System
The 3-Step Digital Learning System is a comprehensive framework designed to help seniors become confident users of digital technology. The system is built around three key areas of focus: keyboard and mouse skills, key terminology and icons related to applications, and interface organization.
Step 1:
Develop and Practice
In the first step skills related to using a keyboard and mouse, including touch typing, proper finger placement, clicking, dragging, resizing, and manipulating objects within an application are mastered.
Step 2:
Remember and Recall
The second step of the system aims to build icon memory and knowledge of key computer terms and concepts. Learning and remembering common digital terms and what they mean is essential to build confidence.
Step 3:
Emerge and Thrive
The final step of the system focuses on learning about the structure and organization of digital interfaces and layouts of different applications. Through this step, adults learn how to locate various features, tools, and commands within digital applications.
